BRIAN FETHERSTONHAUGH, Chairman & CEO, OgilvyOne Worldwide
Brian has a unique vantage point on how brands are built, how corporate cultures are created, and what happens as the world goes digital. In the course of the past 25 years, Brian has worked hands-on with many of the world’s leading brands, including IBM, American Express, Cisco, Coca-Cola, Ikea, Unilever, and Nestlé.
Brian began his career in brand management with Procter & Gamble Canada. He then joined the advertising firm Ogilvy & Mather and rose up through the ranks to become President of its Canadian operations.
In 1997, Brian moved to New York and to the worldwide stage. His first assignment was to lead Ogilvy’s flagship global account, IBM, through its dramatic repositioning as an “e-business.” He later founded and became the first Chairman of Ogilvy’s Global Brand Community, representing the agency’s top 20 international clients, and was appointed to the Ogilvy Executive Committee in 2002.
Today, Brian leads OgilvyOne Worldwide, the customer engagement arm of Ogilvy & Mather. With more than 4,300 staff in 50 countries, OgilvyOne is at the forefront of the digital revolution. Recently named a LinkedIn Influencer, Brian is a frequent lecturer at distinguished institutions including Yale, Harvard, MIT Sloan School, Columbia, and McGill.
Born and raised in Montreal, Brian graduated from the McGill University Business School. Brian is married to Chris and has two daughters, Claire and Alison. He plays ice hockey every Sunday night and plays guitar and harmonica in a rock band—aptly named Plan B.
TIMOTHY F. KENNON , President and owner of McVicker & Higginbotham, Inc., Long Island City, New York.

McVicker received the 2011 Corporate Silver Apple Award for excellence from the Directing Marketing Club of New York.
Tim is the current President of Association of Marketing Services Providers, New York Chapter. He is the 2011 recipient of the AMSP John MacDonald Kane award for excellence in the mailing industry.
Tim is the current Vice President of the Direct Marketing Fundraisers Association.
Tim has been a board member of the Fathers’ Club at Fordham Prep from 2009-2014, retired in May 2014. Tim was a Campaign Officer at the Ursuline School from 2011-2013.
Tim is a member of the Knights of Columbus Council #462, Peekskill, NY from 1995 to present.
Tim Graduated from St. Bonaventure University in 1981. Tim and his wife Kate have seven children together; Caroline, Jack, Aidan, Nora, Una, Declan and Rory. He and his family live in Yonkers, New York.
PAMELA MAPHIS LARRICK, CEO, Javelin Marketing Group
CEO of Omnicom’s Javelin Marketing Group since 2010, Pam has always placed the customer front and center in her career of marketing directly. Current Javelin clients served through their customer lens include AT&T, Hyatt, Guthy Renker, and Sparkling Ice.A proven business leader with a life-long passion for innovation, learning and giving back, Pam’s career spans leading multiple global agency networks as CEO for FCBi Worldwide and MRM Partners Worldwide, as well as leading large business units at Ogilvy & Mather New York.
Pam has been named one of Ad Age’s “Global Power 100 in Marketing & Advertising; one of Ad Age’s “25 Women Leaders of the Advertising & Marketing Industry;” received the YMCA Women of Achievement Award; the Emerson Lifetime Achievement Award for Innovation and Service to the Direct Marketing Creative Community by the John Caples International Awards committee; and was awarded a Distinguished West Virginia University Alumni. Under her agencies’ leadership, she has won many creative and strategic awards including multiple Diamond ECHO Awards and the first Cannes Lions Direct Gold. In speaking engagements, interviews and articles at Cannes, the DMA and all over the world, Pam has been a force for the marketing industry moving into the digital Age of the Customer.
Pam co-founded the Women’s Leadership Network at IPG and is currently a member of OmniWomen, Omnicom’s leading women’s network. She is a former Board member of Marketing EDGE (formerly the Direct Marketing Educational Foundation) and currently serves on the Chairman’s Advisory Council. For her alma mater, West Virginia University, Pam has served on the WVU Foundation Board of Trustees since 2009, and is a member of its Executive Committee since 2011. Pam is also Chairman of its Resource Committee. Pam became a Founding member of Women of WVU in 2013, and formerly served on the Advisory Committee to the WVU School of Journalism.
THOMAS J. “TIM” LITLE, Litle & Company
Litle has a standard answer for people who ask about his career: Every time they pay with a credit card online or by telephone, there’s a 90% chance that the payment will be processed by and/or benefit from software and fraud prevention methods derived from his companies.
Thomas J. “Tim” Litle holds a B.S. from Caltech and an MBA from Harvard Business School. Except for a stint at Litton Industries, he has worked only for his own firms. First was Information Services Inc., a list processor and subscription fulfillment house. It pioneered computer letters and developed the model for Carrier Route Presort, which the U.S. Postal Service still uses to deliver over half of all mail.
In 1977, Tim sold that company and started another with his wife Joan. They acquired Clymer’s of Bucks County, an American craft and apparel catalog. Joan ran merchandising and Tim ran operations.
Clymers was the first mailer to benefit from the work-sharing discounts offered by the USPS under Carrier Route Presort. It also did contract warehousing and fulfillment for other firms.
Concerned that catalogs were losing about 2 percent of their revenue to high chargebacks, Tim then co-founded Direct Marketing Guaranty Trust to process “Card‑Not‑Present” payments for catalogs. Between its software and advocacy,DMGT reduced the average chargeback loss to about 0.1 percent, saving the industry between $1 billion and $2 billion per year.
In 1985, Tim left DMGT and started Litle & Co., another payment processor. It introduced several standard consumer protections:
- Use of non-embossed 3 or 4 digit security code on cards
- Requirement to provide billing address
- Payments by installments on bank cards.
Ten years later, Tim arranged to sell Litle & Co. and DMGT to First USA (he still had a 45 percent interest in DMGT), and in 2001 established the new Litle & Co. Within 5 years, it was No. 1 on the Inc 500 list and half of its clients were internet/e-commerce firms.
Tim’s son Tom, a venture capitalist, became CEO and president in 2006. In 2012, Litle & Co. was sold to Vantiv, now the world’s 3rd largest payment processor.
A member of the Direct Marketing Association Hall of Fame, Tim has also been presented with the Edwin J. Mayer award by the Direct Marketing Educational Foundation.
LON MANDEL, PRESIDENT, SMS Marketing Services
Lon began his career in 1979 at Dependable Lists rising to the level of General Manager. After 8 years he joined List Works as President, List Management. In 1987 Lon returned to Dependable, re-branding it as SpeciaLists. Lon grew the business which was purchased by ClientLogic in 1999. In 2005 Lon purchased the business back and grew the business through strategic acquisitions and launching new services in B2B, interactive and lead generation. In 2013, Lon merged Specialists with Spectra to form SMS Marketing Services, Inc., expanding the service offerings to include consumer data, digital, print and expansion of alternative media services.
Particularly at a time when “traditional” list services are challenged to grow. Lon is an effective mentor to his staff. He has unique skills in guiding his associates to think about challenges and opportunities from different points of view, enabling each of us to find the best possible solutions. In addition, he steadily moves us out of our comfort zone for personal and professional development.
Lon was a long-time member of List Leaders and a force behind the annual Fast-forward industry event. He was the recipient of the List Leader of the Year award in 2011. As important, Lon supports and encourages his associates to volunteer time to DMA councils and events. Several SMS Associates have played leadership roles in DMA organizations and events. He is passionate about direct to consumer marketing and continues to support industry organizations and educational programs.
Lon is the leadership of SMS Marketing Services, Inc. He continues to consult with the staff regarding on-going business and works diligently to identify new areas of growth and opportunity, either through strategic acquisitions or through the ground floor development of new products and services.
Lon has been a member of List Leaders and a speaker at DM Days in NY as well as List Vision and Fast-forward events. On a personal note, he also contributes to his community coaching baseball and basketball.
DEBBIE ROTH, Vice-President of Sales & Marketing, Japs-Olson Company
Debbie Roth has a passion for the direct marketing industry! She is the Vice-President of Sales and Marketing for Japs-Olson Company, a commercial print and direct mail company located in Minneapolis, MN. For over 25 years, she has become the master in direct response production by utilizing traditional and new technological platforms, enabling clients to bring their ideas and products to market.
Insistent on the unlimited potential in the direct marketing industry, Roth has contributed to the advancement of direct marketing through her years of involvement with the national DMA and 30+ regional and local direct marketing associations. On the National level, she serves on the Echo Board of Governors, Echo Judge, DMA Program Advisory Committee and a member-at-large on DMA’s Membership Committee. Last year, the MDMA (Midwest Direct Marketing Association) presented her with the 2013 Direct Marketer of the Year award.
An ardent supporter of Marketing Edge (formerly the Direct Marketing Education Foundation), Roth values education for our future direct marketers. The organization provides a forum for database, social, traditional direct and digital marketing topics in the areas of research and teaching.
Direct marketing is not Roth’s only passion. Debbie is an elite athlete, regularly competing in marathons and triathlons. She also has the fortitude to compete in grueling “ultra-marathons”, such as the Western States 100 Mile Endurance Run. Debbie is three-quarters complete with her current goal: to run a marathon in every state in the U.S. She has already completed marathons in 36 states. In her downtime, she can be found fishing and hunting with her husband and grandsons.
DAWN ZIER, President, and CEO of Nutrisystem
Dawn Zier is President and Chief Executive Officer of Nutrisystem, an innovative provider of weight loss programs offering a wide variety home- delivered, nutritionally balanced meal plans, retail products and advanced digital tools.
Since taking the helm in late 2012, Dawn has embarked on an ambitious 4-point turnaround plan for Nutrisystem bringing in a new management team, enhancing the company’s integrated marketing capabilities, and introducing several new product lines and food selections, a breakthrough digital weight loss tool and industry-first retail offerings. 2013 was about fixing it fast, and 2014 and beyond is about innovating to great. She also has put in place a facts-based culture that drives a focus on priorities, accountability, customer-centricity, and teamwork.
The result is resurgence and an improved financial outlook for Nutrisystem (NASDAQ:NTRI). Under Dawn’s leadership, Nutrisystem expects to have its first full year of revenue growth in 7 years and the stock has more than doubled under her tenure.
Dawn comes to Nutrisystem with a unique background combining a deep understanding of consumer trends and direct marketing, a trained engineer’s passion for precision and data, and years of business leadership.
She received a Masters in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science and an MBA at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), and then held positions at AT&T, Chase Manhattan Bank, and Prodigy Services Corporation. Dawn came to Nutrisystem from Reader’s Digest Association, a leading global, multi-brand and multi-platform media and direct marketing company, where she held several leadership positions over 20 years. Most recently, she was president of RDA’s international business, the company’s largest division, responsible for nearly a billion dollars of revenue and 1,000 employees across Europe, Asia Pacific and Latin America.
In addition to her current role, Dawn serves on the Direct Marketing Association’s (DMA) Board of Directors, where she has been voting director since 2008. She is also co-chair of the American Diabetes Association’s (ADA) 2014 Philadelphia Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes, which builds on Nutrisystem’s long-standing commitment to creating programs designed for the unique nutritional needs of people with pre- and Type 2 diabetes.
Dawn has also served as a board trustee for the Direct Marketing Educational Foundation, chaired the Audit Bureau of Circulation (ABC) Magazine Directors’ Advisory Committee and was an active member of the Association of Magazine Media’s (MPA) Marketing Committee.
A sought-after speaker and industry expert, she is a frequent guest on news networks including, CBS, CNBC, Bloomberg TV, FOX Business News and MarketWatch Radio and has contributed to The Huffington Post. Dawn’s leadership was recently recognized by Philadelphia Smart CEO with a 2014 Brava! Award.
